Yeah, I think you got it right.
When I put a 2015 condenser in a 2017 car I had to use the lines that attach to the condenser from the 2015. They bolt up different at the condenser between 15 and 17. The compressors and evaporator use the same connections though.
So in order for that 2017 line(compressor to ac condenser) to work on your car, you'd have to buy the other one (from the condenser to evaporator) from a 2017 along with a 2017 condenser.
I'm probably making it seem more complicated than it is lol
To make it more confusing, here's a 2017 lol
Aww, you already bought it? I was gonna buy it then relist it for $200
Man I have been looking for that stupid hose for 2 years. I'm not messing around. XD
I'm going to dump my AC-related photos in here for no real purpose...just for future reference. This is a 2015 with the bumper cover removed...

View my fuel log 2015 Mirage ES 1.2 manual: 52.2 mpg (US) ... 22.2 km/L ... 4.5 L/100 km ... 62.6 mpg (Imp)
and here's one.
Stupid sideways picture...
So 2015 condensers have the line mounting bolt below the fitting, 2017 and newer has the bolt next to it.
You will not believe this crap... not one hour after I ordered that hose...
FML... total jinx job
