Those 175 55 r15 tires are rare and pricey as hell. Would I be as close as possible going with the much more common 195 50 r15?

If I wrecked my car tomorrow I'd probably go buy a new one an pay it off asap. There's nothing else that I'd consider at the moment, mainly because I'm cheap. I don't want to pay more money for something that's less efficient(and possibly less reliable). To get something that's more fuel efficient I'd have to pay about double what the cost of a Mirage for a plug in hybrid. I'd never recoupe that money compared to just pouring gas into a Mirage for the next 10 years, provided fuel prices don't keep rising. But electricity prices aren't going down....
I couldn't agree more. I asked her if you was willing to look at a Kia Rio or Hyundai Accent, but she refused. She likes the Mirage, go figure. She's used to it, likes the ease of parking, and all the amenities it comes with. I thought perhaps, she'd be scorned with the G4 after what we went thru but she understands we bought a lemon, from a dealer that straight up committed fraud by not disclosing it had an engine replacement and the work was done real shoddy.

Add to that, electrical gremlins, and she was ready to throw in the towel and get something with a warranty.

The new Mitsubishi dealer by us also details your vehicle for free after every oil change. They did mine this morning and I was very impressed. I definitely wasn't expecting that. I think hearing about that was what finally sold her lol.

Mark, the 175 55 r15 wheels are even more rare than our 165s! What's the closest size I can go with when I'm looking for new tires for the 15" wheels?
I agree the 175/55r15 tire size is about as rare as the 165/65r14 tires.

Just for reference sake (anyone reading this) -

175/65r14 (23" diameter) would be a common alternative to the factory 165/65r14 (22.4" diameter) tire size.

185/55r15 (23" diameter) would be a common alternative to the factory 175/55r15 (22.6" diameter) tire size.

Since you like Discount Tire in your area -

175/55r15 - 5 tire choices (quite good ones starting @ $118/tire & up) & one of those is a snow tire. Even though $118 sounds high, it's a Continental Pro Contact tire with an 80,000 mile warranty. If you haven't bought new tires recently, prices have gone up.

185/55r15 - 22 tire choices (several are winter tires, however). To see what's out there, there are 172 tire choices listed on the Walmart site.

I would enjoy the tires that come with the new G4, and when it comes time to replace them I would explore Top Fuel's thread of 15" LRR tires. Some are experimenting with 185/60r15, but 185/55r15 would be closest match to 15" factory size tires.

Dirk, drive your car to Ohio and sell it here. Apparently this dealership near me is paying top dollar...

Not the dealers down here. They charge $600 for the spare tire set and $400 for an extra fob.

So the Mirage/G4 doesn't come with 2 fobs? You get one and have to pay $400 for the 2nd one?
I have never heard of such a thing.

They must be yanking the spare tires out of the cars & charging customers extra for them?

When I look at my 2017 ES window sticker, the space saver temporary spare tire is listed as standard equipment. The floor mats & rear shelf for the Mirage hatchback were also standard equipment in 2017. I knew those changed somewhere along the way.
