In 2021 both me and my wife got brand new 2020 mirages at a great price, due to the year model.
Shortly after getting hers, less than 2000 miles, I took her car to the ATM because mine was blocked in, on the way back I was ran off the road by an oncoming car that was in my lane. I went into a ditch then hit a culvert and went air born. I was injured in the wreck because my vape cut my hand, none of the airbags deployed.
What was damaged in the wreck? Front bumper, both front fenders, passenger motor mount, both control arms, passenger inner and outer tie rod, radiator support, radiator, a/c lines and both driver side doors had gaping holes in them.
The insurance totaled the car out by saying it was going to be over $10,000.00 in repairs but I knew better, so I kept the Salvage and had them pay the lien holder $10,600.00 because they valued the car at a total Of $12k... with under 2000 miles.
I joined IAAI and found a white 2015 mirage ES and won it for $1700.00 This car is also a parts doner for the 2014 DE I would later purchase, see my post Salvaged Mirage
I then swapped parts and put my wife's car back together, we are sending it to the body shop next week for minor bondo work and to get paint matched to rest of car.
We both use our mirage's to deliver for Domino's and make a profit off of gas reimbursement. WE LOVE OUR CARS.
This is the best Mirage story I have ever seen. Kudos to you two for being resourceful and willing to put in the work to keep your Mirages. They are worth their weight in gold these days.
Wow, that's some talent and patience y'all had there. Personally, I would've just gotten another Mirage. It's so sad this happened on your new Mirage!
I deliver for Grubhub and Doordash and my 15 DE hasn't skipped a beat. They are solid cars! I want another Mirage, but not for delivery, only for my driving enjoyment.
