Chrome package? Just when I think they have run out of cheesy cosmetic add-ons...
Good to see they are still hitting people for the Tonneau Cover and Welcome Package.

Adding $3000 to a cheap economy car would be a deal breaker for me. Even MSRP without the extras would be a deal breaker for me, however.
I like the updates that happened in 2017 and cruise control becoming standard for all trim levels in 2019. Anything else that adds cost to the car would make me like it less not more.
If Honda or Toyota brought one of their European economy cars back to the States this year, I think it would be a huge success! I have to believe there are some people who would reconsider a more affordable economy car today. Sadly, none exist. I don't consider a $20,000 Mirage affordable, but that's me.
Even used Mirages are priced higher than I would be willing to pay for one these days, but I think of my Mirage as my daily driver/beater car.

The low mileage 2019 ES MT is unfortunately expensive... probably as 17 SE MT

Low mileage (under 50,000 miles) 2017-19 Mirage manuals are $15,000 & up within a 500 mile radius (on cars.com).
A Chevy dealership within 200 miles of my home has a 2019 ES manual with 17,501 miles for $15,598. That's more than I would be willing to pay for a Mirage, but that is where things are these days.
A new ES manual within a 500 mile radius doesn't exist. One comes up, but I don't think they have it in stock, & it's not priced.

Funny how the Mirage gets better the worse **** hits the fan! lol wow
I want a new 22 ES manual. I've always wanted a new Mirage but now they cost $19k, geez! Wow, makes me super hesitant to pull the trigger especially at these interest rates. Not a wise recession-proof financial decision!
My delivery 15 DE manual now has passed 140k miles. I don't want to get rid of it either. Damn...
The average vehicle age on the road today is 12.2 years. When it comes to cars, my biggest regret has been selling some too soon.
I still regret selling my 1990 Ford Fesitva in 2004, & it was 14 years old. Gas prices jumped about that time, and they never really came down to the previous level again. I replaced my 14 year old Ford Festiva with a 4 year old 2000 Honda CR-V LX AWD manual with 15,000 miles (private party sale for $12,000). That 1st generation CR-V was my favorite vehicle of all time, but I wished I had kept my Fesitva. I was only paying $99/year liability insurance on it, it was still quite dependable, & it would have reduced some of the wear & tear mileage I was putting on my CR-V. I thought about buying a used Toyota Echo after the fact, but wish I had just kept my Festiva instead.
I really like having a nice primary vehicle like my 2011 Forester 2.5X manual (notice I am saying that about an 11 year old vehicle), while having a nice daily driver like my 2017 Mirage. Since a new Mirage (basically still the same car) is about twice the price it was 5 years ago, I appreciate my 2017 Mirage more than ever. It's an awesome daily driver, and it will extend the life of my Forester for a very long time.
I don't know if others experience this or not, but I sort of have a "guilt-free" feeling when driving my Mirage. I didn't pay all that much for it brand new, & when I go somewhere with it I know that I am doing it as efficiently as possible without the higher cost of owning a hybrid vehicle.
I like window shopping & dreaming as much as the next person, but I have also learned to be content with what I already have, too! Over the years, I have accumulated some nice stuff. At times, I need to take note of that & use it/appreciate it!
