DIY : 2014-15 Factory Navigation Radio / Backup Camera Retrofit into DE

I have a 2014 DE and want factory navigation and factory back up camera. Lucky I found a junkyard out of state willing to pull all those for me cheap!

It is semi plug and play if you can source the Factory U-11 Navigation Unit and GPS Antenna (Including the harness) as well as the rear Camera Module. These 3 items alone is a'most $2900 New.

FYI, DE camera wire are not prewire at all. There is no camera wire from the back of the radio to the hatch. You will need to run a wire from the front to the back. 4 lead. Or you can buy the Clarion Camera with wire and mount the camera in the bumper like other people did on the forum. However I was a factory look so I spend a bit more money to get it look perfect.

    What you need is
    * Factory U-11 Navigation Radio (With bracket)
    * Radio Harness adapter (Included if you ask them to pull it) it will be plug and play to the original DE radio, Speed info and Reverse signal will be prewire.
    * Back up camera module from the hatch if you source it from junkyard or any Clarion camera will work
    * Factory GPS antenna above the radio near the AC vent (See picture)
    * Pull the factory radio facial (Double DIN)
    * You can have them cut the camera cable harness so you can wire it or purchase Clarion CCA644 Camera Input Cable which is compatible.

    Step 1:
Pull the top center front AC vent facial off, remove the DE radio.
Install the GPS antenna into the top hole.
Plug in the factory harness in place
Plug the existing radio antenna in place
Plug the USB cable in place
    Plug in the GPS antenna
Run the Camera wire into the back hatch.
Install the Radio with 2 additional screw
    Install the new facial back

    Step 2:
In the back run the wire at the bottom of the foot-well into the back via the bottom door trim piece.
I also have to go to the dealer lot find a mirage (2017 SE) and measure the opening where I mount and drill the hole for the factory camera. I also need to spend almost $80 for the painted cover (silver) since the camera cover I have is Kiwi Green. You need a dermal took to cut a 1 inch square hole and 2 round screw hole to mount the camera. The Car with Camera has the hole punch out in the hatch.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

so the lines for the video signal are already in place and i could tap into them? I would love to avoid having to run a new wire all the way to the front.

The way he described it, 2014-2015 models are not pre-wired for a rear camera. Which makes sense because a backup camera wasn't available on the Mirage until 2017.

You could get an ES CVT with a Navigation Package in '14-'15, and that included a backup camera. I doubt any '14-'15 cars were wired for it other than those cars which had it from the factory.

    It was a rare option.

when I was wiring up my head unit I thought i saw some unused connectors that are taped down. I could be mistaken tho, I'll do a deep dive when my camera comes in.

    Clarion cable

The Clarion CCA644 Camera Input Cable is discontinued, anyone have a suggestion for a different cable?
