This maybe specific to certain markets. There is no more G4 in canada which makes me sad, its inevitable that they reduce their lineup to only the cars that sell the best.

Base on the article I'm assuming it applies to USA market.

Should be interesting to see if the Nissan Versa will be offering the manual transmission option for 2023 model year. If they do, it would be odd of them to be cheaper than the Mirage has history shows the other way around.

Did a little diggings on the next model year and below is what I found from MM.

Welp... guess that means no more new Mirage for me ever again. Toyota is doing the same thing with the Corolla besides the GR variant and I believe Honda killed off manuals except for the Civic SI. I guess cheaper transport new now is going to be auto only from this point forward.

And here in Holland they added a new manual option for the top trim-level for 2023. It's puzzling, isn't it?

My guess they did this to still have a good spec'd model, just below 20.000 Euros (as the CVT version now officially costs more, for the first time I think).

Interestingly, the Ralliart edition of the Mirage will be released in US? That is quite unexpected. Wonder who wants to pay a premium surcharge for that.

The fuel economy dot gov website shows they tested the 2023 Mirage/G4 manuals. I'm hoping this means we will still get the manual transmission for the 2023 model year.

Still available here in Canada with a modest $200 price hike over the 2022.
