Yeah it really do be like that… my plan is to take care of as many things as possible. If I order something for my truck on RockAuto, I go ahead and order some maintenance item for my Mirage while I’m at it just to have the parts handy. It is a car that can’t be outright neglected like a Toyota, but if halfa** maintenance is done it will last longer than something like a Kia Rio or a Chevy Cruze. I do believe my biases are showing right now.
Laughable! Any EV battery gets replaced no more often than a catalytic converter when they are used up or stolen, which throws off the numbers even more. Tesla was once designing for swappable battery packs but abandoned the concept.
Just don’t bring up which one will burn your house down…. Charge outside folks.

I'm interested in an ev(looks like this is where threads are gonna be headed for a while) but not a luxury car. I can't justify 50-60k on a beater to drive me to work. I think they're cool and all but I don't see the savings that some people do? I don't drive enough to save the planet I guess?
I do know a guy that's got 3 tesla's. He drives a ton and has free supercharging. He preaches about how he was spending hundreds of dollars a month in gas and now pays nothing.
Good point about the lack of stolen cat though.
One partial turn off would be parking outside in -40 but I guess I already do that at work sometimes.

The cabin (and battery) can be pre-conditioned (meaning heated or cooled) for a specified departure time and can be controlled remotely with the app. I did mine for the first time this morning and it was fantastic. With the right credentials I could give you access.
I agree with you that I don’t need to spend so much money just to get to work. A Chevy Bolt would have been just fine but they weren’t available at the time I placed my order due to their huge LG Chem battery recall. Teslas are in such high demand used ones go for as much as or more than new so I expect the investment will hold up. Like Mirage ownership, time will tell how it all works out.

Recent quote -
"One of the main reasons why Teslas retain their value even several years after initial purchase is their mileage range. Most Teslas will last over 500,000 miles, while the average person drives only 13,500 miles per year." Aug 24, 2022
500,000 miles/13,500 miles per year = 37 years!
You should be set for a long time Eggman!
If they just made one with fewer features for less money!
