That's a good deal ($3.75/quart). I tend to compare prices to Super Tech ($4.30/quart for 0W-20 full synthetic).

I also like super tech, but lately the quaker state is cheaper and maybe even better.

I haven't seen Quaker State cheaper than Super Tech in my area, unless I missed some rebate offer or something. It's been close to the same price, however.

A person could watch each competition, but Project Farm's championship round is the best use of one's time. It summarizes all the oils tested. I would reach the same conclusion as the tester. Super Tech/Amazon Basics are a very good value, & it's what he chooses to use in his vehicles. I wouldn't say Quaker State or even Mobil 1 for that matter are superior to ST. Then again, I wouldn't claim the opposite of that either. Mobil 1 cranks out so many different types of synthetic oil, & that became a bit of a turn off for me. The marketing hype may help them sell more oil, however?

I think any full synthetic oil changed at a decent interval is going to do well. In all honesty, I switched over to 5W-30 full synthetic for my two vehicles. 5W-30 & others are recommended for Mirage use in other markets. So I am not so stuck on using 0W-20 any more. I think the 0W-20 recommendation is based on fuel economy for the North Amercia market, but everyone should do what they feel is right for their vehicle (especially while still under warranty).

You are 100% right. For our vehicles assuming non racing service, any API SN or greater Ilsac GF5 synthetic oil in a reasonable viscosity (read xw-20 to xw-40) will give the 3A92 near the same service life. A lot of the "best" oil threads are wasted space. I buy what is on sale.
