High mileage car :: 2015 Mitsubishi ES PLUS (Garage entry)

I figured I'd add a garage entry for a high mileage Mirage that I have been maintaining since 2014. I didn't start keeping a copy of the service records until the car had 89,000km/55,000 miles but there wasn't much going on other than tire changes/rotations, wipers, air filters, and oil changes.
I'm not including tire changes because I never kept track of what tires came off which car. I don't have time or space to keep track and store matched sets for every single car. Maybe I'll get there one day.

I'll try to post the info that I have about what I've done to this thing over the years to keep it going. I did a compression test on this car today. I'll try to put together a video of it when I get time.

This car was mostly driven on the highway for a long time so we decided that I'd change the oil at 12,000km/7000miles instead of 6,000 like the rest of the fleet.


May 2016 168032km/104,000miles Oil change, replace air filter and windshield replaced.

July 2016 179,500km/111,500miles. Oil change

August 2016 191,500km/119,000miles. Oil change

October 2016 203,500km/126,500miles. Oil change

October 2016 206,700km/128,500miles. Replace spark plugs

November 2016 215,500km/134,000miles. Oil change,replace belt.

November 2016 217,000km/135,000miles. Drain and refill cvt(slightly overdue....By a lot.>)

December 2016 227,700km/141,500miles. Oil change,air filter, clean cabin filter.

Missing info from January-March 2017

April 2017 263,600km/164,000miles. Oil change

June 2017 275,500km/171,000miles. Oil change

July 2017 287,500km/178,500miles. Oil change, Air filter,front brakes(pads and rotors). Might have replaced brakes once before?

August 2017 299,500km/186,000miles. Oil change, cvt fluid change.

October 2017 311,500km/193,500miles. Oil change, replace rh front marker bulb(194/w5w/168)

September 2017 304,500km/189,000miles. Replaced CVT with a used one that has 40k kms.

Missing a record here or was very overdue for an oil change...

November 2017 323,500km/201,000miles. Oil change

January 2018 336,000km/208,800miles. Oil change, front brake pads (avg trip B-6L/100km-39mpg)

March 2018 347,800km/216,000miles. Oil change

April 2018 360,000km/223,700miles. Oil change

May 2018 372,000km/231,000miles. Oil change.

June 2018 382,000km/237,400miles. Replaced rear brake shoes and drums. Used drums with 40k km from same car that cvt came from.

June 2018 383,500km/238,500miles. Oil change.

July 2018. Replaced lh clear marker light(under headlight bulb) w5w/194,168 bulb.

September 2018 388,300km/241,300miles. Replaced rh headlight bulb(9003).

September 2018 389,500km/242,000miles. Oil change, air filter.

December 2018 395,500km/245,750miles. Oil change, CVT fluid change.

Most informative service scheduling posted on here. Definitely more informative than just following the service manual. Still though, it's original CVT7 died at 189k mostly highway miles I'm assuming? I'm more impressed with ones in your fleet over 300k km and still on their original CVT7. 189k miles though meant that 2015 Mirage did better than in longevity than probably 80% of Versas or Sparks, or Fiestas.

Very cool list my dude. Usually when some basement decides they're going to live action role-play by lying that they own a shop and are always seeing Mirages with failed CVTs before 100k miles. I called bs and posted your data. I could tell by his reaction he didn't even own a shop, work professionally on cars, or knew a damn thing.

This one didn't even have the first cvt fluid change until 135k... methinks dude you mention is on the bad stuff...

I took this car for a drive the other day and it's a bit knocky. I'll hopefully have a free hoist next week and be able to drop in a near-new engine into this one.

It hasn't been used much over the last year. I think it's at 520k km /323k miles. Still drives but sounds like my first Mirage did. I'll post a clip when I get a chance.
