    EDIT: Nearest AAMCO is 70 miles away, same for either dealership nearby. Thanks for the tip!

    yes life improved greatly going to 175 instead of 165. lots more options.

    Aamco = drain n fill with OEM fluid, dropping the pan and cleaning the magnets/ $200 USD add another 50 bucks if you want the side cartridge filter replaced. The other one in the drop pan, too.

    Prices in New York might vary. I'd recommend quality independent tranny shops too that work on a bunch of Nissans. So they're experienced with the JATCO CVT7, helps big time.

    I prefer shops with "Japanese Specialist" on their sign. A little extra scratch usually but it's worth the piece of mind. My wife's old 2017 G4 had the engine replaced before we bought it, unbeknownst to us sadly, so it was one electrical issue after another. It was a freakin audio shop that pointed out the shoddy replacement work done by the Mitsu service center, when I was getting a Rostra cruise control kit installed. I don't recommend the Rostra unless you live in a flat part of the country either. The OEM cruise is on point though on any steep highways.

    Yeah the only independent transmission shop around my neck of the woods will never get my money ever again. I will investigate AAMCO though.

    Head on down to Manhattan, Chinatown. L&W auto repair. There's a chinaman there, Lo Pan. The man is a genius and won't break your balls.

    I bought a like new 1992 Caravan in 1994 for what seemed to be a steal, clean title, no repo or writeoff. Until I faced electrical issue after issue. I took it to a small Chrysler shop in my old town (god I miss them, best prices in Ontario, amazing selection for their size, usually 200+ cars in stock, like 25 different Neons in the day!) and they called me up asking when my engine was replaced? Huh? Many harness wires were just twisted together, no solder, and had a couple wraps of electricians tape. Heavier wires did use crimp cons, but undersized meaning the idiots left half the wire outside the crimp con. I hated that car so much. The dealership likely saved me a small fortune as I sold it off, honestly detailing the problem, but remember it was cheap to me? so, ya, I sold it cheap and broke even. If you can call being stranded everywhere 20 or 30 times over a year breaking even.

    Anyhow, my Vega I sold to buddy became a 350 LT1 ride and he worked at Aamco, he'd tell me stories of how his commission/salary worked. He get $x.xx an hour and 30% of each job up to $150 and 40% of every job over $150. He was incentivized to bring in every bill above $150. This was in like, 1977 so IDK how Aamco pays staff now. Buddy lived a very comfortable life, nice house, had some kids, etc. Lost touch with him in 1986 or so.

    ETA, thought I'd check to see if Aamco was still in Canada, 5 shops in all Ontario compared to a shop in every town >10,000 back in the 70's, So down a bit from their heyday of 125 shops in Ontario alone.

    ETA 2, Mister Transmission, a Canada firm is rapidly dwindling, from 65 locations when the wiki was written down to 57 on their website. They had hundreds of franchises back in the day, one for every Aamco that existed. It appears being in the transmission servicing business doesn't pay any more.
