Too funny, is that a 70? 225 cu. in? or 318/340, no 340 would be a Swinger.
mine was two years before the Aspen/Volare line took over, so 74 IIRC.

I guess eating is my hobby? I never really stuck to one.
For a while during college, motorcycling was my hobby. When I started, I joined group rides. Before I sold my beginner (250cc ninja) bike, I was leading rides pushing every ounce of that engine on sweepers. I moved into a 600 which I sold after a couple of years since someone offered the same $ I purchased it for; I was also in my senior yr of college and didn't have much seat time. A little after college, I purchased a Kawasaki ZRX 1200r to try out the sport-standard scene. I figured it was too heavy for me, though the torque and comfort were great.
Oh wait. After that, I started dancing to country music. 9p-1a three to four days a week back in my peak. I then met my wife in the country bar. The said country bar closed down and we slowed down partner dancing because all my dancing friends grew up or had lives.
The wife's German so she's more into line dancing. We finally found a bar that does some line dancing so we're out there once or twice a week line dancing.
In my dancing prime, I was about 200-205lbs which was the lightest I've been as an adult. I've gained over 30lbs since then (about 5-6yrs) since I lack the cardio that dancing provided. Such a shame.
What I'd like to get into but lack the drive or money:
- swords, guns, archery
- offroading, overlanding
- autoX
- a hobby that makes money
I went to an autoX practice with the wife's TT but figured the TT wasn't the ideal car. A cheap miata or civic would be more ideal. Now-a-days, I go to a couple of BMW autoX events with their vehicles. That's been enough to scratch the itch.
Wife's contraception just went out of the door at the beginning of the year so the next "hobby" may be a kid.

Don't know if anyone zoomed in on the tractor in the foreground, but it is 3-71 Detroit powered. The industry's first 100 HP tractor. Big deal for 1956...
It sounds so good. That was actually one of the things that I loved the most about the Mirage was how the 3A92 sound like a little baby 3-71.

It must have started in 73, as I know nothing bout no dang bumper extensions.Yes, a torque flite 727. The one the old school dragsters tried to get. Maybe the new school dragsters too.
Yes, that sounds right. The 5-- something, must be the manual transmission (4-speed) I read about that I would LOVE to have in that car. I'd have to go look that stuff back up, too lazy at the moment.
I agree. It's hard to imagine, but a 4 stroke 3-cylinder does have a similar sound as a 2-stroke inline 6. I've considered doing some exhaust mods to the Mirage, but I can't figure out what I would want to do to get the sound I would like. It would have to more of the same that it has. The problem I've heard on youtube with Mirages with exhaust stuff done, is that at low rpm, they just sound like a 4-banger with a fart can. That sounds no good to me. And I don't care to experiment. Maybe when my warranty is finished in another 7.5 years, I'll experiment.

Now I have to go hunting for clips of the 3-17. I had no idea that little beast existed. I can see even today plenty of applications for it. It likely won't pass modern CARB standards.
