Timing chain cover removal help

Trying to change the timing chain on my 17 mirage. I cannot get the timing cover to come off. I’ve quadruple checked every bolt is out. What am I missing. I’m prying on it every which way and at this point it sounds like the cover might have cracked. I’m at my whits end and have to have this done by tomorrow.

how many bolts have you removed? did you check the factory service manual for guidance?

I think the covers are basically stuck on with RTV sealant rather than any kind of gasket. Try running a razor blade around most of the circumference and it might come off?

What happened that you need a new chain? This is the first I've ever heard of the need and I think the first instance here? What mileage is on the car? I know you have a deadline so answer when time permits.

I was thinking the same thing. The only time I remember hearing about a bad timing chain was from someone that commented on this video crappy of my first Mirage with 50k km. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Io9r5PRbIFw I guess I've got a lot of timing chains to replace.....
