The standard USB stick works perfectly. If you push the volume control it will let you select the folder on the stick, followed by the track...

Works Super fine. I like it a lot!

I find it a gross oversight on the part of Mitsubishi to only include USB connectivity for ( i ) products !
I have an Android device which holds a massive market share globally but it will NOT work through USB interface.
I will be quite sure to thoroughly examine all future auto purchases for this bias.
what good are "bells and whistles" if they play only for a select few.
I hope Mitsubishi wakes up and distributes a software update (flash) to remedy this issue..
    Will weld for beer.

Ichabod: to clarify, at least some Android devices seem to work (post 1).

I didn't try my (older) Android when I test drove the car in Nov., but will make a point to when I get the loaner Mirage at the end of next month.

I think it may be how one has setup the usb. Try to change the android over to usb mode instead of media mode.

Doesn't it work when you connect it to the Aux input of the player?

of course but you need to get into the player to control it whereas if connected to USB or bluetooth you can use the radio to control it. without a big ol cord hanging out of the dash

btw still want to just be able to hookup an external usb powered hard drive and have that work. still haven't got my wish there i tried seagates but they require base software to operate so I assume thats why it won't connect. Unfortuantely I have 4 external harddrives and they are all seagates. If anyone finds out what works let us know. I have to much music to be restricted to the 80gb of my s4

You must do some extensive driving, if 80gb doesn't provide enough variety

I use a Windows Phone. Since USB control didn't work properly, I went with just getting a nice phone holder for my Lumia 1520 and I use the AUX input. I prefer the phone controls anyway, but of course, having a huge screen helps...Here's the forum link with pics.
