Just did a CVT dump and fill on 2015 ES. How full is too full?

Just did a CVT dump and fill on 2015 ES 87 K miles
    How full is too full?
Took out 2.5 quarts of trans fluid and put in 2.5 quarts
The level is at the top end of H on the stick when cold.
Should I try to take some back out?
    Seems to drive fine.

    Thanks

I'd leave it alone. 2.5qt/L is what should have came out when you pulled the drain plug. Don't pour back more or less than that.

Saw a comment on youtube where some guy says he does a DIY "flush" by letting the car run with the aux filter and housing removed. I think he says he is dumping new fluid into the dipstick while old fluid is being pumped out the aux filter housing port. Has anyone ever heard of this method? Seems like it could have negative repercussions...

That was the way I did it on my auto cars. FWIW I never had a transmission failure I can recall. I bought some clunkers with toasted transmissions and replaced them. I guess the era I owned these cars was not the era of frequent transmission failures.

The dipstick is meaningless on these car transmissions. There is a chart with dipstick vs transmission temperature that must be followed in the service manual. If it ran well before the change, you measure what came out and put the same back. Hope yours keeps running well.
