    Changing new tyres a pain…

I’ve replaced my original Bridgestone Potenza for new ones after 65000km and they had still tread above legal mark, and equal wear. I never thought that changing tyres in our Mitsubishi was not a linear thing, and after changing them a noticed a vibration between 110/120kmh and then it disappears, the problems is now corrected, but it took me to the shop 3 times to calibrate the wheels and the last time with the technician on board driving the car to identify the problem. Anyone with similar problem?

That sounds like an incompetent tire balancer problem, not a car problem.

Yes they agreed on that but I saw the work, they are experienced tire garage but from what I saw our cars are not only put the tire in the machine and put the weight the machine tells and align it. I’ve hand other cars and even a Citroen 2cv didn’t have that kind of problems.

Did you buy the same tires to replace the originals (sound like you did) or go with something cheaper?

I bought an off brand motorcycle front tire once. They couldn't get it to balance. It vibrated like heck above 50 mph. After a few tries, I just bought a better one & had no issues.

I suspect a poor quality tire is harder to balance correctly, but I'm no expert on the matter. Nor am I suggesting that is your problem either.

Yes but the original went away with 65000km, never gave me problems in all weather conditions…for the same specs as originals (175/55/15 77V) there aren’t many choices.

It’s Ok it was only a calibration problem not rim or tyre. It was strange because a normal calibration on the machine was not enough…
