Searching for Liftgate Ajar sensor 2015

Spent some couple hours physically inpecting the car and that again flipping through this service manual at this point.

    Can't seem to locate it.

Picked up a mirage with a damaged hatch. Open door sensor rarely goes off when I close the hatch.

Anyone here able to point toward where I should be looking for the sensor?

I believe that switch (sensor) is part of the liftgate latch assembly.

That is along the lines of what I was thinking as I couldn't find wires going anywhere else that made sense for the switch but couldn't exclude it exclusively being wiring for the locking mechanism.

I'll pull it back apart and report if I find anything conclusive.

Hopefully I can determine the exact mode of action.

That is correct it is part of the latch assembly. If you watch this youtube video at around the 2 minute mark you can see that tricking the latch into thinking that the door is closed via screwdriver turns the "trunk" light off: https://youtube.com/watch?v=pmzmnK_q...e=shares&t=120
