I've always thought the G4 looks a bit goofy with narrow 165/65r14 tires, but they don't bother me as much on the hatchback. I was surprised by the 14" x 5" factory rims, but that's actually a good size for most any tire you would want to run on a Mirage or G4.

Most aftermarket steel rims start at 5.5" wide, & they still work for 165/65r14 tires. I prefer the 4.5" or 5", however.

So maybe the G4 has a little more room in the wheel wells? If that's the case, I may try the 15X6.5 195/50R15 setup I have on the 2017 hatchback. I had to raise the rear end to stop the fenders from rubbing over bumps.

I wouldn't make any assumptions, but a 195/55r15 (22.7") tire is basically the same diameter as a 175/55r15 (22.6") tire. If you like that size, I would switch them out & try them on your new G4 first. You'll have to give us an update if you try it.

Let us know if you have 15" x 5" or 15" x 5.5" factory rims? If they are 15" x 5.5" rims, they are made for 165-195 mm wide tires.

I got a set of 185/55R15 tires and will install them on Monday. I will take some pics.

Here are pics of the larger 185/55R15 tires on the new G4. I notice the softer ride right away and the just look better in my opinion.

    Thoughts -

    Part One -

When I am driving down the highway & google maps is on (displaying my speed), my Mirage & Forester are both 1-2 mph slow. If my speedometer reads 55 mph, google maps will show slightly under that (54 mph).

I would be curious to know how that plays out with your new 185/55r15 tires?
I would suspect speedometer speed is pretty close to actual speed.

    Part Two -

I'm always interested in someone's opinion on tire brands that I haven't really heard of before.

After some usage, I would like your take on your new Advanta ER-800 (460AA/50,000 mile warranty) tires? They appear to be quite affordable, & they come with a decent rating/warranty. The tread design looks good, too!

I will have to hook up the phone and see how far off the speedo is, but I don't think it is off much at all.

Our shop recently started selling Advanta tires in the last six months as a cheaper option for our customers. We have installed big rig drive and steer tires with no problems yet. Three of our car customers who got them say they love them so far. I got a pair on the rear of my 2017 steel wheels with snows on the front for winter. The sidewalls on these tires are surprisingly thick and the workmanship looks great. Time will tell.

With my discount through the shop I got these tires for $49.00 each. The wife loves the ride. Much smoother over rough roads.

With 185-55-15 tires on my 2015...

When my speedometer (and Scangauge) indicated 60mph, my Garmin GPS showed 61mph.

I have 185-60-15 tires now, and I think the GPS shows 63mph when the speedometer says 60mph.

I was going to get the 60 series, but was afraid of rubbing.

A set of four 185/55r15 tires for under $200 is a great deal (especially in today's tire market). I appreciate you sharing all that!

I have said this numerous times on the forum - The Mirage in the States should come with 175/65r14 (23") tires or 185/55r15 (23") tires, because there are a lot of tire choices in those two sizes.

Plus the two tires size above match in outside diameter. Factory 165/65r14 (22.4") & 175/55r15 (22.6") tires don't even match each other.
