You made a great choice and remember, as the subsequent owner, you're still entitled to the remaining powertrain warranty, so you're covered for another 25k miles under that. Also if you ever need a quick boost to merge onto the freeway and the on ramp is short, simply switch it to Ds or sport mode, and switch off the AC for a few seconds, you'll notice a difference. 98% of the time though, this won't be necessary. The "L" selection on your gear selector is for engine braking and going up extremely steep hills too.

You sound like my type of car shopper! I think you did extremely well into today's car market. On a personal level, I wouldn't recommend buying any new vehicle (regardless of brand or model). The new car discounts just aren't there to justify it. If you can save $5000-6,000 by buying a slightly used Mirage/G4, I would go that route myself. Compared to something like a Ford F-150, that amount of money off a Mirage/G4 is a substantial savings.
Despite what some lame car critics may say, these cars are developing quite the reputation (reliable & economical). When you find one that also feels affordable, a Mirage/G4 is hard to beat!
If you take care of it, your new purchase could be like this one -

Even though the article is discussing an older model, your Mirage has the same basic powertrain (maybe even slightly improved).
Congrats on your purchase! I hope you enjoy it, & continue to share that joy with us!
