    Question 2017 Mirage GT

I used to have a 2015 Mirage ES that all of the options and CVT. I got 41 MPG in town and 48-51 MPG Hwy. I loved the car, but one night, I totaled it by hitting a deer. After 5 years, I have to get another car to add to the family fleet and found a 2017 Mirage GT used at dealership. It has all of the options and CVT. The difference that I'm wondering about, is that my 2015 had 14 inch wheels OEM alloy and the 2017 GT has 15 inch OEM alloys. Does the GT still get close to the same MPG? I would think the wheels are heavier etc. If anyone else has a GT or SE with the larger wheels etc., chime in.

    Thx,

    welcome!

I think the MPGs were "adjusted" a little later down the road. Back in '14 I think they claimed upwards of 50mpg. I think it's down to 40ish now?

I don't think the oem 15" wheels and tires weigh much more than the oem 14" wheel and tires. The 14" steel and aluminum wheels were pretty close to the same weight.

I just installed some 15" oem wheels onto a 2023 Mirage GTand they're lighter than the steel wheels and larger 185/60/14 snow tires that I removed(had older 14" wheels on it for winter). I didn't think to run them over a scale at the time.
Unless you have some pretty heavy 15" tires on the 17' GT I don't think you'll notice a much of a difference over the stock 14" tire combo.

Have a look at the fuel log. It should give you a real world example of what these cars will do in the wild. Keep in mind, some people drive to save fuel & some pull loaded trailers & some are race cars. YMMV
I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything
