    Shift Knob and Skirt

Has anyone attempted to take them off/replace?

Back in the day, they just screw in and out. The Rio had a fancy reverse so I didnt take a chance.

Since the Mirage does not have any other lever (for reverse), I'm assuming just lefty-loosy?

Some may require a cloth and a shifter.
Place cloth over the gear knob, then use the shifter to break the plastic glue seal that it may have.

Mine had that...I just applied brute strength to it while using my knees to stabilize it while crouched over it ^_^ Not too sure my wife would be happy if she knew, but hey...who cares xD

I put an evo shift knob on mine and how deep the old shift knob was the evo one has a gap between the boot and the knob. I have a shifty(http://www.wiggyshifties.com/) on mine so it doesn't bother me much but I can feel it. The small baseball shape feels right in my hand though so I needed the big clunky one to go.

probably a good 2 inches. I was toying with the idea of making the shifter shorter but im already reaching further down than I want to shift. shortening it even more would just make it unbearable. Ill take a pic and show you guys a little later when my girls go down for bed.

I'll try to remember to imagine losing 2 inches in my drive to work tomorrow.
