    Installing rear dome light

    Has anyone done this?

1 idea is to run just a foot of LED across the middle of the ceiling... I want to somehow use the front light switch to turn the LED on/off - and maybe have the LED strip turn on/off when I use the keyless entry.

Anyone know if that's possible, wiring wise?

Does the keyless fob turn the front dome light on/off?

Wiring it to the front light switch would be pretty straightforward. How would you route the wires though? Above the headliner?

Yes, the keyless fob turns the light on/off.

    Above the headliner sounds easiest.

I wonder if that light source is 12v or not. Most LED strips ask for 12v.

    It'll be 12v.

What are you hoping to gain with rear dome light that cargo/trunk light doesn't do?

Light for rear seat occupants. Women looking for stuff in purse, guys getting stuff from backpacks, gays looking for dildos in their manpurses, etc. etc. etc.

Seriously, this is the only vehicle I've owned without a rear light of some sort.

Resurrecting old thread. Mounted a dome light from a wrecked Mirage to above the rear passengers. Just waiting on a Raybrig LED to match the front output. Simple easy and should've already been there mod.

Looks nice. How hard was the install?
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Easy. The front dome actually mounts in a plastic frame under the headliner, so the lights retainer clips are spaced about 1/4" from back of light. I repositioned them because they'd be only grabbing headliner.. epoxied them in place, ran a tri wire from front dome and snapped it in. About 30 min total.
