Driver rear break shoe lockup 100K miles

Have my 2015 ES Mirage with about 100K miles driver rear break shoe lock up after the car was sitting for about 13 days when going forward. Backed up and when forward a foot or so and it released. Drive about 100 miles without any issues

Replaced the shoes about about 90 K miles.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

I have had that happen too on a couple cars after sitting for weeks or months. Back wheel was completely locked up rocking it back and forth for a bit broke it free. It felt like the shoe rusted to the drum.

How's the parking brake - are the cables a little rusty?

Maybe you drove in the rain and then parked the car for a long time with the handbrake on?
If the inside of the drums were wet, the handbrake applied and the car left alone for days, rust will form and the linings will be caked onto the drums. Completely normal on any car with drum brakes.
