A member asked me to post pictures of the MID showing average mpg and tank mileage. I use the A trip odometer to track tank mileage.
Please add your pictures to this thread. They may convince more folks to give this great little car a try.

Nice number.
I'm a little confused though: does the Mirage have one or two MPG displays? Using "B" implies two.
Can you leave one (B) alone to track the whole tank, while resetting the other one (A) to monitor individual trips within that tank?
I assume resetting the trip odometer resets the "tank" gauge (B in your case).

B is the manual reset avg mpg mode. You can reset either mpg mode anytime you like, or A will reset itself if the car hasn't been driven in about 4 hours. B is manual only. It won't reset until you do it yourself. My wife's car's B mode has tracked her mileage for the last 5000 miles, because she doesn't use it.
So yes, I reset the B fuel consumption gauge at each fill up, as well as the A trip odometer.

Wow, that's very impressive. Could you please get pictures before filling this tank or the upcoming ones ? That would tell the capability of the great fuel economy this car can achieve . Thanks

At the distance meter, when it shows A, hold the button for a long time, it will switch to B. Then cycle to avg mpg and you will still in B

This is the gas mileage of the '08 base model Yaris sedan with the 4 speed auto . The Eco-Meter is showing 40.1 overall avg. for current tank and has been reading a bit lower than the original gas mileage ( miles / gals. ) , so possibly more . Very difficult to let the car go . This is with 4 Bridgestone Blizzak tires ( @ 35.5 p.s.i. ), plan the get the Bridgestone Ecopia 422s' on it soon . Hopefully that'll bump up the F.E.. Would like to rent a MIRAGE with the C.V.T. to see how much gas mileage could be compared to the Yaris . Here's the records from Fuelly for the sedan , http://www.fuelly.com/driver/cinder/yaris .
This is a round trip on country roads over two days. No interstate travel.
Edit: added pic of gas receipt, but I can't believe this to be accurate, as it comes to 85 mpg. I had more cargo in the car at this fill up. Same pump I always use. We'll see what the next fill up brings.

I maxed out at 63 mpgs with interstate travel with mild techniques of slow accel and neutral coasting on hills. I normally average 53-55 on a tank. Its just so hilly on the I71 between cleveland OH and mansfield OH I cant seem to get it any higher. I wish to learn your tricks lol.
63 mpg is Fantastic. Nice work.
My "tricks" are all shown here in my garage:

I try to time traffic lights, decelerate using the engine, and drive with patience.
