    Newbie, interested in the Mirage!

    Hello,
I test drove a Mirage ES 5 speed saturday and it was the opposite of what most "expert reviewers" said...It was fun, roomy, well equipped etc. Yes it is not a race car and yes the suspension isnt race car tight/stiff....and it seemed to ride fine at 65+mph on the highway on a windy day...it did not feel the lest bit unstable.

I am considering this car, the older I get the more I find that the "less is more" motto applies to me.
I have owned some nice cars in the past but I was always happiest with the more basic cars. I only wish the ES 5 speed could be had with Navi....sadly you have to get the CVT to get nav...

A lot of people here share the opinion that most auto reviewers fail to look at the Mirage in its proper context.

Glad you enjoyed the car. What are you driving now?

Interesting... we have another member who had a CRZ... and seemes to prefer the Mirage!

I had a gen 1 Insight 5MT for a few years up until last summer. Neat car.

Interesting cars, do you think you will stick with the mirage for awhile or get rid of it too?
    Good fuel cost cutting car.

I wish I knew!!! If I didnt trade cars so much I know I would be alot better off financially....I also owned a Mazda 2 in the past and the Mirage reminded me somewhat of that car..very small, but roomy, cute looking and fun fun to drive!

I'd be interested in hearing more about that... because often the Mirage gets slammed by reviewers who say the Mazda 2 is the car they'd pick in the small car category.

    I have never tried a 2.
