Bazooka Tube Sub Under Back Seat?

Bazooka has a quick wiring harness for Mitsubishi that goes between the factory head unit and the wiring harness that splits off the needed audio signals, power and ground for one of their compatible tube subs.

This avoids any cutting, splicing, or otherwise messing with the factory wiring. Supposed to be good for leased vehicles, to return them to stock at turn in time. Also seems to be a good way to avoid any warranty issues that the dealer might bring up when the electrical system has undergone a modification.

Has anybody removed the seat cushion from the back seat of their Mirage? Wondering how much room is available down there, and if it is sufficient to accommodate a tube sub.

This would make a truly stealth install, yet add some thump to the stock system.

Now, if you could just reach the head unit connectors from the glove box opening, it could be done without even disassembling the dash and removing the head unit.....

    Oh, the possibilities

The rear bench sits right on the floor. There is not much more than an inch down there.

    Good to know.

I guess the rear hatch area is the most likely mounting place.

I like the option of using a plug and play approach, instead of splicing into wires.

Aside from taking up some space in the hatch, it would still allow the sub to be hidden with the hatch cover on the vehicle.

Could even do a quick unhook of the connector and remove the sub when taking the vehicle in for service, to avoid any questions. The cable could go into the spare tire well.

Interesting. Really, bazookas are all we need. However, they can be pricey.

Pioneer used to make a sub that mounted on top of the spare tire. I think it's out or production, or at least no longer sold in this country.

Seemed like a great idea for vehicles with limited space. Not sure why it didn't take off.

Anybody put a small sub under one of the front seats?

Looks to be some decent space and it would be easy to tap into the rear speaker wires that run down the sides of the car. Catch them before the hit the back door.
