Question- Electronic Stability Control button

It says to hold it for.five seconds but it DEFINITELY feels like longer. Only tried it while in N on my stick.

Yeah you can do it at any time I usually get going then shut it down when I get annoyed in icy weather

Thats because its stupid and useless.
Its done nothing but annoy me.

CVT owners: Hold the selector between N and D for about 5 seconds.

Turns traction and stability control fully off. You'll also get two "swerve" lights on the dash when doing this. Will remain off until next ignition cycle.

I discovered this by accident/boredom.

isn't there any possibility to turn either the stabilitycontrol or the tractioncontrol of on manualdrive cars sold in the Europe?? I find it strange since the tractioncontrol may not be a good thing in ex. deep, heavy snow..
