Wow, that's nasty. I wonder what's going on there.
Still, it's doing better in Oz than in Canada.

I saw another article discussing the "rebound" in the light car segment in Australia, which was hammered last year.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/352810/l...new-car-buyersSales of light cars have increased 11.0 per cent so far this year to 36,578, making it one of only two passenger segments not to lose ground compared with 2014
[...]
The arrival of a host of all-new and significantly updated models over the past 12 months has given new life to the underperforming light car segment
They also offer a tidbit about the Mirage sedan/hatch split in Oz:
"The Honda City’s key rival, the Mitsubishi Mirage sedan, trails with 515 sales, though it’s performing better than expected, accounting for a third of total Mirage sales this year."

There are Mazda 2's everywhere here in Canberra, I've only seen a few Mirages...

Funny thing: Mazda has called off bringing the new 2 to North America (for now). I think they're worried the segment sales are shrinking (as they are in Oz) or that it'll take sales away from the 3 or their new small crossover.
I think the 2 would also take sales from the Mirage (depending how they priced it).
