US: Car Lust slams the Mirage (carlustblog.com)

    Overall:

It’s too bad that the Mirage just doesn’t add up no matter how you look at it.

If the car survives to its next generation, I really hope Mitsubishi is able to step it up, address its deficiencies, and make it something that can actually compete in this increasingly crowded segment. The Mirage is an idea that seems like it deserves the effort.

Sometimes I wonder if "journalists" around the U.S. are paid to rain on the Mirage and push the government's Spark ... is it just me?

I was going to leave a comment... but I think I've given up correcting mistakes in reviews.

It's all in the blog's subtitle:

The more I drive my Mirage, the more I like it. Frankly, I haven't has much driving a car since my 67 VW bug.

Turning ratio is outstanding. Power is fine for around town. My old VW never dreamed od the options the Mirage has.

I, personally, would not own a GM car if was free. I don't hate GM for any big philosophical reason, I have just owned their products in the past.

Being a man of my word, when I vowed "NEVER AGAIN" when it came to GM ownership, I meant it, and they earned it.

Besides, a blog is basically a license to be as self-indulgent as possible.

When we shopped, we priced the competition with options equal to the Mirage. Doing this made the Mirage even more of a bargain at Msrp. Adding the rebate, owner loyalty, and an hour of haggling time at the dealership, the Mirage couldn't be touched pricewise.

None of that really mattered as my wife found the Mirage to be "too cute for words" when she saw it inthe Plasma Purple. Fortunately, the salesman didn't know this last piece of information.
