Quick question... colour names (plasma purple or pink or mulberry...)

    Hello.
I see a lot of our American members saying plasma purple.
Is this the colour they mean?

Because that is more of a pink, and is called mulberry over here.
Known as the pink mirage colour.

Yup, that is indeed the "plasma purple" on this side of the pond.

Mitsu actually held a facebook contest to have the public name the car's colours over here.
Thread: Contest: name the new colors of the 2014 Mirage (U.S.)

    Many insulting suggestions were given!

Weird. That colour isn't really purple, probably why I got confused.

Actually, you're thinking of violet. Purple is the non-spectral range between red/pink and violet, including magentas and the like. Technically, the mulberry/plasma mirage IS purple according to color theory. I just wish we got the chartreuse model over here. The green just doesn't do it for me.

    We have Plasma Purple Mirage.

It is an interesting color in that it changes appearance in different lighting.

Sometimes it looks purple, other times more of a pinkish tint.

^ I've read that in a few of the reviews. That it shows "pink" in the photos, but varies a lot to the eye.

    I haven't seen one yet.

    Hard to find.

Our dealer had 1on order, which we bought.

He had only sold 1 other, and that was to an out of state buyer who couldn't find one in his state.

They had two when I went to get my car. Very nice color, was close to getting it, but Kiwi Green won me over.
