    Question Dead pedal?

Do you guys know of a dead pedal that could be installed in the Mirage? I fear that eventually I will get thru the thin carpeting with my left foot...

I have access to certain tools and will be looking to mock something up soon. Stay tuned.

My floor mat is already half worn through where the clutch is. They made it thicker for the brake and accelerator pedal but not the clutch

I also would like a wedge to rest my foot on while driving, I don't like getting the carpet next to the pedal all gross and dirty. I've had cars that came with them and it was much more comfortable than just sitting your foot on the floor.
I notice the mats this car came with do not seem to cover enough carpet, but the Weathertech mats seem to provide larger coverage and would help me there; but I too may look at a homemade solution for the pedestal. I'll report back here when I get around to it.

How are the local junkyards for prices? I have been tempted to grab one off of an old Taurus for my 2011 Focus. I haven't worn through the carpet, but a dead pedal would be nice. Guess since my left foot is being used for the clutch I don't need it ... apparently.

    I have these at work.
    Rubber coated steel.
    It's about 1/4" think.
I set one in there and it seems to be a good fit.(?) definitely large enough for sasquatch.
You would have to figure out how to attach it though.
If someone want's to experiment with one of these, send me P.M.
