    front license plate and frame

Hi again to all and thanks for the warm welcome. What is everyone using to mount the front license plate? I see the little dimples; do they use the same size screws as the rear? Do you guys prefer the 4x12 or 6x12? Ideas? Thanks...

Might want to find out how this was resolved:

Front-Mounted License Plate (how to mount?)

I simply reversed the dealer-provided black plastic frame. I've done this before. Turns out most of those plates have little notches where the plate fits. So you simply reverse the frame, and you get a nice, thin black frame for your plate. Plus, you're not providing free advertising for the dealership...

The dealer used rivets to attach mine....

    Yeah, you read that right.

I'll have to drill them out to pop it off to put a plate I want on....

Wrd. That's plain stupid - unless you're at a state that does not change plates... I know here in TX, we change plates every 3-6 years or something like that.

Oklahoma doesn't require front plates. I'm guessing they just hope no one wants to ever take them off so they get free advertising... I'll probably get a couple small black plugs to cover the holes.

Guess with rivets there is no worry about plates getting stolen!

Never heard or seen this method of attachment for license plates before.

Where I live the dealers love to plaster their name on the back of cars with decals or stickers. I always write into the deal that there is to be no dealer sticker on the car at delivery.

I once tried to build in a $250 penalty if a sticker was present as my "advertising fee" but the dealer wouldn't go for it. They did not have a sticker on the vehicle when I picked it up, however.

    OK dealers

Dude, that's f'ed up, OK dealers are douches. My car came from an OK dealer and it had its front bumper violated with a tag mount... WTH are they thinking, leave the damn bumper unblemished, already. I added my own plate anyways, but wouldn't have if it was left the hell alone to begin with...

And rivets, WTF - double douche bag award.
TRUE STORY - a buddy bought his wife a surprise b-day car (years back) and when he went to pick it up they'd drilled and mounted a 'tag' on the front (KS doesn't require), he told them. Nope! "You'll be refunding me the $ or getting another, stat." He ended up with a different color but slightly higher optioned vehicle w/o the holes in the bumper.
