Front page of Yahoo this morning...

It was MSN.. oh well.. I have too many tabs open and haven't had my coffee...

The thumbnail is a blue Mirage...

    http://editorial.autos.msn.com/most-...cid=autos_5435

And the first car covered is:
    Mitsubishi Mirage

You've likely heard all about Mitsubishi's latest take on the subcompact Mirage. Not only does this model look like a dud (just sayin'), it has the kind of stats needed to back up the promise of lackluster performance. Try a 1.2-liter 12-valve 3-cylinder engine pumping out 74 horsepower — and it's 2014! As if that weren't enough, it starts at $13,000. These days, you can get a lot more car for a grand or two above the Mirage's base price.
Just another one of the many condescending views from someone that probably hasn't ever driven one and only points out the "lack of power".

    Pathetic.

On a side note, all the comments are slamming the article. I like it.

    A lot more car . . .

Can you really get a lot more car? Literally, yes you can. But functionally, I don't think so.

For instance, functionally, I could buy a $13000 Mirage and a $1000 canoe and be amphibious. That would be better than a $14000 car.

I could buy the Mirage + a mountain bike or pair of boots and be all-terrain. That would be better.

Mirage + new suit is classier than $14000 car.

Mirage + theme park admission is more exciting than $14000 car.

So, yes, a $14000 car is marginally better than a $13000 car, but not better than what else you could do with the $1000 difference! Both a $14000 car and a $13000 car will get you where you need to go, and neither will be exceptionally thrilling, luxurious, or likely to increase your status.

My vote is the 1985 Dodge Omni - "best" car I've owned so far.

Can you spell "clickbait"? I knew you could. That article is full of baloney. I'm getting sick of the latest trend in the web to have lists. Ugh.

All that I care about is I love my new Mirage that's getting an avg. of 48.5 MPG and that's driving it on the interstate.
Oh before I forget, it's so freaking fun to drive so to all the so called writers that bash it doesn't know anything about the Mirage, if they did they'd say positive things about it too.

    The end with these guys.

Sounds like they never even drove it

It's just about one's needs and preferences.

Some would rather buy a cheap new car with 0miles for the comfort of knowing that they'll have a car, guaranteed, for x miles or x years.

Others don't mind gambling on cpo or used cars. 13k can get you anywhere from a gorilla to a bmw.

I wanted a car that I can put some miles on, so used wasn't an option.

The nearest car for the money would be a Versa note, its about 2 grand more and get worse fuel mileage , neighbor gets about 33 with the 5 speed.....imho the Mirage is the best bang for your buck both now and for the long term investment
