How is your Mirage AC?? (air conditioning strength?)

The ex's Galant had one of the coldest AC units I've ever experienced. How are the AC units in your Mirages? Can the climate control system stave off a Texas summer? Do the blower motors seem up to the task? Compared with other cars you've had, how does these ACs rank in coldness?

I didn't think my ac was very cold at all. Got them to check it at first service and its apparently within spec.
So I think it will barely do the job in Auckland's temperate climate. But have no chance in a Texas summer.

My 18 ur old Toyota starlet had colder ac plus the convenience of a half setting that didn't sap the power.

It withstood tropical Manila's 38C summer temperatures just fine. I think it should handle the Texas heat okay.

Then again, I don't set my aircon to very low temps.

I am in Louisiana and the AC unit works extremely well. No complaints.

I don't know if it is due to the quality of the A\C unit or the fact that the Mirage has a small passenger cabin, but both my wife and I have commented on how cold the A\C is in the Mirage.

Only concern I have is that it might freeze my fingers to the wheel, if the vents are pointed towards them.

Should hold up to any heat/humidity just fine.

Agreed with all above. It's been 90+ here daily and the car is cooled off within a couple minutes of starting it.

The Mirage's AC system blows the coldest air I've felt in any car in the past 10 years.

I had to bring the auto climate control setting up to 20.5°C as the car was getting uncomfortably cold with outside temp @ 30°C.
    Will weld for beer.

    Since we both live in Texas, this is what you need to do;

    Step 1.

Get the windows tinted. This will help to keep the inferno that is Texas's summers at bay, slightly.

    Step 2.

ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS find a shade tree to park under wherever you go.

    Step 3.

Send your significant other to start the car up for you 10 minutes before you need to drive it.

    Step 4.

Try not to have the A/C going while sitting at idle as the A/C won't be able to cope too well with the heat. Yes it will cool, but not too great. Once you get the rpms up a little and get some good air flow going through the condenser, you'll be set!

I've been nice and cool with doing the above. Now if I can just get out of the dog house and back into my house after asking my wife to start the car for me!

Your step 4 seems to not do well with step 3...

I don't have the mirage tinted yet, and the AC is still doing good.

The lowest setting is 61*, i believe, but I hover at 62 and 65 or more at night.
