Possible convert from a smart fortwo -- Update: bought a Mirage

Hi, I've been a diesel fortwo owner for 6 years and was thinking of buying a Mirage.
The fortwo has been fairly reliable but I feel the need for a change, a shame the Mirage doesn't have a diesel....then it would have been a slam-dunk for sure!

    Hi strawboss -

Go try one - you'll like the thrummy triple, even if it's a gasser.

Try the manual... that's what Smart should have done from the beginning.

And the engines share some design history too, I would like the manual transmission but I don't think you can get the AC with it so it looks like Ski-Doo/CVT city for me

I'm sure there is an AC+manual option there somewhere.

    Welcome!

They make them, so hopefully you can find one! I really enjoy mine!

You can get the manual and A/C.

In Canada, only the top trim car (SE) has air, and you can get the SE with either 5-speed or CVT:

So you're telling me that all DE's dont have AC in Canada?

What if one does not want all the other junk of SE but want AC?

    Correct!

NO A/C on the base model "ES" Mirage in Canada (we have "ES" & "SE"). If you want A/C, you have to buy the SE and get all the other stuff.

That kinda sucks as the (totally emotional & illogical) reason for me cutting the present car loose is the AC keeps failing & I want an economical car that's got it, if the Americans can get it optioned that way why not us?
