    Hello from Jakarta, Indonesia

    Hi there,

I guess I am the first here from Jakarta, Indonesia. Just bought a silver mirage, matic type without the keyless button. We call it GLS. It is fully imported from Thailand. i am waiting for the delivery around 4 weeks, waiting the papers from the police.

What made me buying this car is the responsiveness of the CVT transmission, leg space on the back and engine sound. Some may think it is a bit noisy but for me it's a bonus..

ok.. i guess thats the introduction from me

Welcome, arsu! (You are indeed the first Indonesian member.)

    And congratulations on your purchase.

Some people really like the sound of the 3-cylinder engine, it almost always gets commented on by reviewers of the car.

What car are you driving now? Have you had a 3-cylinder before?

    Darin

Hi arsu, welcome here and congratulations on the purchase of your Mirage. Silver, that's my favourite colour too!

    Welcome!

I've always thought that I'm the only person who's fond of the three banger growl. After reading some reviews from both journalists and owners it turns out I wasn't alone. It's a satisfying noise that's just as distinctive as the crossplane V8 sound.

    Enjoy the car!

It does have a unique sound. Sometimes I like it, other times I don't! But then I am a fan of V-Twins in motorbikes as well (Italian mostly)

    Hi Darin and all.

Thanks for the warm welcome. This my first time owning a 3 cyl car and my first matic too.. hehe Jakarta is chronically jammed. i spent 2 hours every morning on my manual Nissan suv, it cost my knee i can tell you. I used to be an SUV fan, but gasoline prices, age etc made me a wiser man .. hehe...
Whenever she come, I'll nickname my Mirage as 'Silver Bullet'...

yup. my work is only 15 km from home. but since we dont have MRT and enough decent busses, people buy more and more cars. Ironicly, people buy more comfortable cars to overcome 'the torture' on street. Me included

Gaaah. I thought Manila was bad. My commute is also 15km each way, but it "only" typically takes me an hour.

Without traffic, I can get it in 20 minutes flat. 40 minutes on good days, an hour and a half on bad days.
