I bought my Mirage about 2 hours away from home. I hit 90 on a back road on the first day! I don't think I've gone that fast since.

It doesn't reach high speeds quickly, but it's perfectly happy up there.

Not at all good for MPG, though!

    Simplify and add lightness.

Um I wouldn't remove your rear spoiler so rashly, without some second thoughts.

Someone on here did it, and it doesn't look good.. And certainly not worth the 2 cents on gas you think you will save. Lol.

I'm cheap, but not aesthetically cheap!

That means the car would have estimated about 37.7 MPG had I not reset it partway through, but I used 6.638 gallons over that drive so my actual economy was 38.4 MPG. Not too shabby for 80mph roads!
No way. I bought my car at Painters in St George! Are you a Utah native?

This past weekend I went over to my brother in laws house for a mini LAN party where we played Call of Duty. I left there about 1 am and had the country roads to myself. So, I decided to take it slow and see what mileage I could eek out of the Mirage on my 18 mile trip home. Snapped the pic once I got home.

Yeah, I'm born and raised in the Orem/Lehi area. I got mine at Planet Auto Sales on State. I've been traveling all over Utah and the northwest of the country for the past year or so, and I spent about 2-3 months working in Vegas and Saint George earlier this year. Currently I'm back around Orem/Lehi, and I'm probably going to head out to the east coast later this month.

That’s wild man. I’m downtown Salt Lake. I guess it’s a small world after all lol. East coast is nice too! I hope you enjoy it. Lots of history there.

We should grab a friendly couple photos together before you head East!

    Wow! Impressive.

    Details!?

Pulse & glide, I assume. What was your target speed?

I haven't done any hardcore hypermiling (P&G) in mine yet. It's always fun to see what crazy numbers that technique can produce, but it's kinda tiresome (to me).

Now I'm tempted to try it just for kicks... except I just parked the Mirage until winter, so it's unlikely I'll be able to get numbers like that in November.

I didn't really have a target speed. The speed limit is 45 mph on most of the trip. I did use P&G nearly the entire way. I pulsed to about 40 and coasted to about 25ish for most of the trip.
