All things considered mirage isn't cheapest?

Hey, feel free to move this or merge it.
Was watching the afternoon news and this popped up at the bottom:
    http://www.themorningbulletin.com.au...-2014/2295322/

Alto is the cheapest to run.
Was interesting to see the figures that they have included.
    This is for Australia anyway.

I have a hard time believing a study that states a Mirage owner will spend 25%+ more on service and repairs than a Spark owner.

A million x million. One look at all the car issues reported at the chevy spark forum would cast doubt on that "study".

(Moved to "news" because it's not only about fuel consumption costs...)

JT: it's been a close race between the Alto & Mirage in several Australian studies.

    EG, 2013:

-- Mirage the cheapest car in Australia to run

-- Mirage is cheapest new car to own/run in Australia (RACV/RACQ/NRMA)

Just thought this was the latest news on the race for the cheapest car.
But then they took into consideration the loan repayments and everything, so they went very deep into the findings.

I follow the Spark forums too (it's a possibility for my next car too!) and they seem to be having problems; moreso than the Mirage. 2013 MY Sparks don't have functional AC - though GM has issued a recall for it. The other major issue is the engines are starting to consume oil. Appears to be related to the VVT system from what I am reading online.

Yep, reading about plenty of Spark engine problems, especially after ~20,000 miles.
