    Mirage dead pedal options

    A dead pedal would be nice.

    Doesn't your Mirage have a dead pedal? The one I drove definitely had a properly placed rectangular "hump" in the floor in the dead pedal position... though minus the plastic pedal-like pad on it.

    They all have that, but people want a plastic pedal-like pad on it. People have been wearing through the carpet. A dead-pedal is actually the protective medal or plastic piece that goes on the hump. Called "dead-pedal" because it's usually the same style as the other pedals in the car.

    For now I bought a $4 large brake pedal pad replacement at O'Reilly Auto, and screwed that onto the dead pedal area. Works well for now, but aesthetically it's not the optimal solution. I think I'll find some discarded black rubber mat and then make a pattern that covers the entire dead pedal hump, that should do the trick.
