    Talking about the new Smart?

Jalops excited because the new Smart will be a small city car that will come with a manual transmission? Well, whaddaya know, there's a car that fits that mold.

    Ha. Nice.

And I see you made it into the "selected comments" section under the main post.

I fully agree with the poster who said:

No mention of mileage? Because the lame with a capital L thing about the Smart ForTwo was that it was a teeny tiny car that got terrible mileage (for its size). I haven't talked to a single person who didn't think it got north of 60 mpg, and was shocked when they heard the true numbers...
Of course, he's talking about the gasser ForTwo. We got the earlier diesel version in Canada, and they were capable of ridiculously frugal numbers.

My neighbor owns one and is quite proud of her 36 mpg. I didn't have the heart to tell her my four seater was averaging 45+ mpg.

Goodness, don't tell her that...and certainly don't tell her that your car gets those MPGs on plain old regular unleaded, not the premium stuff used by the Smart.

Never touch any Diesel one, they're so unreliable it's unreal!
