    tpms

My TPMS warning light came on and I checked all 4 tires and they all have plenty air. The owner's manual says that in the event of a malfunction the light would blink a few times first then remain solid. Mine doesn't blink at all but comes on and stays there. Has this happened to any of you and if so, what did you do to fix the problem? I bought my car out of state so going to the dealer is not an option; they are 5 hours away!

    Hi sunsetjim!!!
I wouldn't worry about the light, just make sure the amount of air in the tires equals what it states on the door frame. As far as I know this is not going to affect anything with the car. If it does not go off, whenever you are near a dealer, stop in and have them check it out. We have a Kia Sportage with the tpms. I have a set of winter tires on their own rims that do not have the tpms sensors in them, so when the winter tires are on the vehicle, the light remains on and does not affect anything on the vehicle. Hopefully it will turn itself off soon!

You said pressure was OK so you may have a bad TPMS sensor in one of the tires. This happened to my Honda once. The dealer had to put a new one in. You probably don't need an actual dealer, just a tire shop.

Does anyone know what type of sensor is used?
