    front license plate screws

I've read a few posts about this, but still not sure....do the front screws go into the steel bumper after they go through the plastic cover? Can't imagine the plastic being durable enough to hold the tag securely. Also, what size are the holes? I am surprised Mitsubishi doesn't offer a front tag plate.
    Thanks.

Plate/dealer frame are screwed directly to the plastic ONLY, with a coarse threaded heavy screw. (about #10 or#12)
The metal bumper resides more than an inch behind the plastic "bumper cover" so screws will not reach it.
This is more than sufficient to keep your plate secure.
This is how it's been done for some years now with no issues.

Note: If you were to use longer screws to reach the metal bumper you would deform the bumper cover as you tighten them.

Ok, thanks very much. Guess the rear is on the same way? (I haven't removed the temp tag yet). If so, it'll be secure enough because the rear seems fine. Thanks again & have a good weekend.

It looks very sloppy, but that's how mine are too. It won't hold anymore of you tighten them too much.
