Gear oil fill location for 5MT?

Ordered some Redline 75w80 gear oil to make the break-in change, but I'm not exactly sure where the fill location is. On my Aspire, you had to remove the speedometer gear for filling, but I can't seem to find an obvious spot on these.

Servicing your transmission already?? How many miles have you logged on the Mirage?

Actually, I'm definitely planning for an agressive maintenance schedule for the transmission too, but only b/c I'm uncertain as to the durability of the CVT.

Lucky you can buy our own transmission fluid..was reading through the manual and the CVT takes a specialized CVT fluid..probably only available through the dealership or something. Manual certainly has its upside!

I haven't serviced my trans yet, and excuse me if I'm wrong, but can't you just fill from the trans dipstick?

Post pics when you do this so we can get more DIY's on the forum!! From what I remember seeing when I was under the car for my first oil change, the trans pan actually has a drainbolt!!

Manuals don't have dipsticks like an auto or CVT would. But I figured I'd change the fluid after breaking in the trans a bit, plus some occasional grinding of the gears. Need to flush out all those little metal particles! I've got about 6000 miles on it right now.

Back in the day, tranny fluid didnt get touched until at least 25k miles. I may do mine in 20 because of how I drive my car.

But back to the original question, does anyone know where the gear oil fill location is?

Okay, so I went ahead and called up the dealership, and I was informed that both the drain and fill are plugs, so there's no dipstick measurement, and the owner's manual says the capacity is 1.9 quarts. My Redline oil comes in today, so I'll be able to get that done before the move to Virginia.

Update: Got my gear oil in today, and they sent the wrong stuff. The package contained Redline's 75w85 gear oil, not the listed 75w80.

Update 2: So that bolt I thought was the fill plug was NOT it. Both the fill and drain plug are 24mm bolts, and you need a flex funnel to reach the fill plug, since it actually points slightly downward for some odd reason. My old gear oil was quite dark after only 6200 miles, so I'm glad I got it changed out with fresh stuff. I'll get a writeup going soon.

After thinking about it, I probably shouldn't be publishing this stuff...
