    Ok i blocked the names.

in the pic i asked which one they used

he posted that the concern on his clutch which was hard to shift and notchy is gone and it is smooth after replacing to ATF

as per the OP it is the ATF that was used as seen in the pic on the right.
so im not sure if its true, but i dont think he would lie about it. I just didnt post his original post in fb as a respect to him and i dont have permision too.

the word "malabnaw" "malagnaw" he means its thinner thats why it was used.

75W80 gear oil is not a thick gear oil to begin with. There's thinner manual gear oil, but there's also thicker gear oil.

Daox has experimented with using a thinner gear oil in his Mirage, but he still used manual transmission oil.

Like I said before, I see no need to try anything other than what's recommended for a Mirage manual transmission. If the guy using ATF has no manual transmission issue after 300,000 miles (485,000 km), I would take note of it then. Otherwise, we're just guessing about it all.

    That makes more sense now.

Automatic transmission fluid contains additives that are meant specifically for those types of mechanisms. Manual transmissions have synchronizers which help aid in shifting. These synchronizers are usually made with what's often referred to as a 'yellow metal' - brass or some such. The softer metal of the synchronizer helps match the speed of the gear being selected. Sulfur in lubricants is known to soften these synchronizers and ruin them before their time. This is only one reason why manual transmissions have certain requirements for lubrication. There may be other requirements. This is only one example of why it is worth following the manufacturer's specifications.

The person who is using ATF for their manual transmission may experience a temporary improvement but may cause damage over time.

Of all the feedback you've received here over this, no one here would recommend doing it. But it's not our transmission. Most forum members have reported improved shifting using a quality synthetic lubricant designed specifically for manual transmissions and other similar gearboxes (such as a transfer case or differential) but not automatic transmissions. They have a very different range of additives for their purpose.

Thanks for letting us know the details. Here's hoping this experiment works out for your friend. Please let us know how it works out.

    Hello all,
. . . . I now have 62K miles on my G4. I am going to have a major service sometime next week and at that time I am going to install Redline 80-90 GL-4 and see if the notchiness goes a way.
    GOD Bless and Thanks,

You must be averaging close to 10,000 miles/month?

    Mark,
. . . . Yep! Maybe a little over that. I am also averaging 40 mpg. A stiff tail wind raises that to 50+ and a stiff head wind lowers it to 35. Would you please send me an email?

Let me know if the shifting improves I'm curious to see if anything changes. I've been driving 3k miles every month but now that winter is coming I will maybe drive 300miles a month.

Just my two cents. 15/16 socket worked instead of the 24 mm for me. Removing the radiator overflow reservoir is a snap and gave me extra room to get the transmission funnel placed perfectly. Also I would assume the reason people can get the whole two quarts in is because the car is not level. if you removed the fill plug after having the front end up in the air the extra 3/10ths of a quart of fluid would probably seep out from the fill hole. Thanks for the great write up, also it doesn't hurt to hit the two plugs ( fill and drain ) with some penetrating oil before removing.
