Is plug sold at most part store chains? Do you have to order it? From where?

The oil industry here has been "crazily happy" to infuse the late oil change paranoia on us.

A magnetic plug is a good idea even with once a year oil changes as it keeps metallic particles trapped at the plug rather than circulating.
It also gives us a visible indicator of how things are going without cutting filters open.
    Will weld for beer.

American-spec'd oils are less stout than European oils, hence shorter OCIs.

I also agree with what IchabodCrane said.

Just in case anyone is still looking I just used today for my first Oil change a Dorman Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Part Number: 65216. Price was $3.99 as an add on item with Amazon, fit perfectly, and let the engine run for about 10 minutes, no leaks. The only thing I noticed with this drain bolt, is it comes with a plastic washer, so on my next change I will change this out with a metal one.
