    Aftermarket brake pads

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum.
My 2014 Mirage has the brake pads already worn out, and the dealer wants to charge me over $100 for the brake pads plus installation :/
Is there any aftermarket option out there? I can't find any option anywhere, checked Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Dang, how many miles? I usually don't need brakes until 100k miles or so.

I found some pads at TireRack:

I do not know of any. How many miles do you have on her?

This appears to be a good question for 2013 Mirage owners who may have been driving the @#$^ out of their cars.

But since yours is 2014..how many miles could you have on it already that you have worn through the brake pads?? And what sort of driving do you do mostly? If they're already worn through, can we assume some insane stop and go traffic where you are?

Good luck finding brake pads though and please update us if you find anything!! As it stands, Mirage has nothing listed for air filter, and a bleak (official) listing for even oil filters.

I used to deliver newspapers years ago, house to house, and those kind of jobs will wear out the brake pads on any car super fast.

    Welcome, elisamuel40!

I'm also interested to hear about miles on the car & driving style that could have worn out the brakes already. Sounds extreme.

Actually, he is right, especially if the car is an auto. You can eat through those pads without any miles at all. Same with stop and go traffic or stoplight to stoplight activities.

I live in a city that has never met a stop light they didn't like. We seriously have them almost every block (with no rhyme or reason to their sequencing), and I've never had to replace pads on a car within the first year. Barring someone riding the brakes constantly, or as others have suggested, delivering something, I cant imagine 1 year use as normal wear.
