    Tinted windows

Got my windows tinted Friday, 5% on the rear three and 35% on the front sides with a 5% windshield strip that is even with the bottom of the mirror. Almost did 20% on front sides, but the 35% works well with out being a hindrance.
Local shop was doing full car tint for $159 then $30 for windshield strip, they did a good job.

Looks nice, I did 35% on the rear three and 50% on the front two... Trying to keep "close" to legal in my state. Tint is a definite improvement.

We're not supposed to tint the fronts more than 4 inches from the top, including the windshield; anything behind the driver's peripheral is not limited. My windshield at the bottom of the mirror is something like 4 3/4 inches, most police here leave you alone as long as you're not blacked out or you give them a reason to be jerks about it.

Tint is a definite improvement, especially the top of the windshield because the visors are not large enough.

    Looks great!

I've thought about having a light tint put on mine. The question I have is about longevity. It looks like most cars start to bubble after 5-6 years and need replacing. Since we have those defrost strips on the rear window, how do they not get damaged when they peel off the old tint?

Also (this shows I know nothing about tint), how do they trim it without accidentally slicing into the window rubber?

The tint that bubbles is doit yourself tint or crappy shop tint. Find a reputable shop and it will last a long time... We have a 2002 mazda protege5 that was tinted when new and it still looks good... All about quality material wih a quality installation!

Exactly, quality tints with proper care will last a very long time. My installation came with a lifetime guarantee for discoloring and bubbling.

What tint brand did you go with? Ceramic or Non-Ceramic?

I got mine tinted at 25% all round on my white mirage, makes the car stand out so much in comparison to others. Was probably the best thing I've done to my mirage so far lol :P
