Southern California. New Mirage. New Member

Hello . I have about 300 miles so far after a week of owning my 2015 manual DE. Can't say enough good things about it. I finally gave it a good highway run and I just don't see why Mitsubishi didn't rate mpg more accurate to * up to 38 road 50 highway mpg. That's what I'm seeing feathering the gas pedal but no hypermilling techniques. I did 65-70 mph at 49mpg.

I'm I'm the process of doing a rear seat delete since I travel and spend a lot of time with my dog.
Hope to learn and be part of this mirage community. It's a great little car .

My theory on owning the mirage is that it serves it's 3 purposes 99% of the time it's driven.
    1) it's cheap . I paid close to 14k out the door(beat that hybrids)
    2) fantastic mpg . Close to 50mpg highway (better than most hybrids)
    3) reliability. The warranty is second in the u.s

Welcome. You've practically hit the points.

From someone who drives the mirage pretty hard, I can tell you that you probably wont use that warranty claim soon.

Welcome to the site, and congrats on the new Mirage!

If you haven't seen it yet. We have a write up on how to remove your rear seat here:

DIY: Removing the rear seats (turn your Mirage into a mini cargo van)
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Haven't been on here in quite some time but definitely had to take the time to log-in and welcome a fellow so-cal(er). Kinda surprised at not seeing more of these on the road in our area. Gas prices are currently lower than they've been in a long while, however, we still pay more at the pump compared to ~%85 of the rest of the country, lol. Still loving the ~50mpg for sure.

Hello Mike. Your right , I've yet to see another mirage on the road besides mine. I live in the inland empire (Ontario) so I'm about an hour &1/2 from most of SOCAL so I averaged it to 3-4 gallons round trip from anywhere to the beach, desert, mountains, border , and back home. That's less than twenty bucks for a weekend trip.

    A belated welcome, theserg85!

I'm in Ontario too... sadly, the one much farther north.
