Australia: Mirage named "best in class" in car of the year awards

WHAT do a Mitsubishi Mirage and a Mercedes-Benz C200 have in common? Both are included on the latest list of the nation’s best cars for 2014, revealed today by a panel of auto aficionados.

The economical Mirage takes another award, recognizing its superiority in the "micro car" category.

Interestingly, they awarded a specific trim of the car, the "ES", which is the base level in Australia.

“The introduction of the micro cars category and a change to small SUVs has not only recognised the change in the market place but addresses affordability issues by evaluating cars which are smaller and more cost effective in fuel, servicing and size,” Mr Moody said.
