humpf, my Mirage won't sell for a good price in summer, unless the fuel price goes up again. Will have to sell my Dolly around August with an estimated 30-35k miles :-(

Keep in mind these are the cheapest Mirages we can find. The average used price on autotrader is still $10,500 for a 2014-2015 Mirage.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block
Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

This is the first used Mirage I've seen under the company's new CPO program with the fully transferrable original 10 yr warranty. (Normally the 10 yr warranty only applies to the original owner. It drops to 5 years if you buy privately in Canada/U.S.)
See thread: Mitsu: new certified pre-owned car program ... transferrable original 10 yr warranty
2014, and it's the base trim, 5-speed. 29k km = 18k miles. $7500.

2014 ES, CVT, 9k miles, in Waterloo, IA for $7200. It is being sold by a private seller and does have a rebuilt title. I'd imagine you could talk him down a bit.

Fuel prices here are up from $1.349 in January to $1.799 last fill for me. A barrell of oil has gone from high $20s to over $40 in that same time. With my latest ultragauge and block heater, I'll probably average 60+ this summer, very close to that now. That's still 3 cents a mile, about the same I pay for car insurance ($350 a year without collision).
I remember a Metro selling for $9 grand on ebay when the gas prices hit $4 a gallon sometime around 2008-9. A Mirage is light years better than a Metro. No offense to present and past Metro owners intended. I don't expect depreciation to be rediculous as it has when gas prices were down dramatically, but as they rise once more, you better grab a Mirage while they are cheap.
I was parked next to a $60k Lexus today and it had more orange peel in the paint than my Mirage. At over 17k miles (one year 5-9-16 owned) I see no evidence of poor quality or any reason to expect any more than normal wear and tear compared to any other car. The wife's Sorento is worth $11k, about $14k depreciation in 4.5 years.
I still love this little car and I'm getting the same fuel mileage I did on a 500cc motorcycle, while carrying 4 occupants (including myself) in reasonable comfort. Nothing else comes close, even comparably priced cars, not even considering the warranty coverage. Including the extra set of tires, I got from another forum member, I won't need tires before close to 100k miles.
regards
mech

It is looking more and more like my next vehicle purchase is going to be a pickup. Or something that can tow 6000 pounds. Hmmm.
Still browsing CL for the right priced Mirage, though.
