Thread: Cheap used Mirages you've seen for sale?

Correction due to faulty memory (mine!)

I ended up not being able to find MTL in any local parts stores. You can order it online & shipped to Canada, but it's stupid expensive.

I mixed my own using a bit of Redline MT-85 (Canadian Tire) plus Royal Purple (also Crappy Tire). See this thread: https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...l=1#post135131

So, what I gathered from the other threads, the purple stuff from crappy tire should do the trick. I'm only getting to 12,000 km now, so I won't have to change it for a while. Hopefully I will remember this info when the time comes. Or maybe redline will become available here, that would be best

The car that I just bought from Loren shifts 7 billion times better than my old one did and the only difference is a weighted shift knob. I would have never guessed it, but its really really good. Give it a try.

I will duct tape a leaded weight to the shift knob and evaluate!

I started using Redline MTL @ 30,000 miles. I shift very gently with very little effort. I can't imagine the need for a weighted shift knob, but I shouldn't knock something I have never tried. I just find shifting a Mirage to be quite effortless . It takes almost no effort, and we all know how soft the clutch pedal is. I almost drove it through the floor boards before I got used to it.

    Just bought a 2015 manual AC with 107 000km for 4000$ can

Car doesn't seems to have anything wrong and was fairly clean, just a bit of rust on one quarter panel and a bit on the inside of the doors.

Got around 43mpg on my commute last week on winter tires....

That seems like a great deal! 107,000 km (66,500 miles) isn't bad for an 8 year old car. If something happened to my Mirage, I would want a used one just like that! $4,000 CAD is under $3,000 USD. I haven't seen many deals like that for lower mileage Mirages lately.

I hope you continue to enjoy your Mirage! Welcome to the forum, too!!!!

    Thx for the welcome

If you're on the hunt for a spare one there's a white 2014 ac manual with cracked front bumper listed for 4500$ cad in Quebec city

It's been listed for more than 2 weeks so seller might be more "motivated"

Mine was listed for 4500$, haggled a bit but the guy didn't want to budge for less than 4000$ even tho he told me I was the first interested in 2 weeks of being listed...

Checked it real quick for any play in suspension and steering, when I shined a flashlight inside the oil cap I couldnt see any sludge, everything was clean like it was new so it was probably maintained fairly well...
